Website design and custom website development
We design and build websites that load quickly, read clearly on a phone, and give people an obvious way to get in touch. No templates you have to fight, and no page builder you need a manual for.
What it is
Website design & development, in plain terms
A website project with us covers the whole thing: the structure of the site, the words on it, the design, the build, and getting it live on hosting we look after. You end up with a site written in clean code rather than assembled from a stack of plugins, which is the main reason ours load faster and break less often.
Custom development means the site is shaped around how your business actually sells. If you take bookings, the booking path is the spine of the site. If you quote on jobs, the quote form is on every page it needs to be. We do not start from a theme and then bend your business to fit it.
Every site we build is responsive, which means it reshapes itself for phones, tablets and desktops instead of shrinking a desktop layout down to something unreadable. More than half of the visitors to most Australian small business sites arrive on a phone, so that is the layout we design first.
Why it matters
Why your business needs this
For most businesses the website is the first thing a customer checks and the last thing anyone gets around to fixing. A slow or confusing site does not announce itself. It just quietly loses the enquiries you paid to attract.
People check you before they call you
Someone gets your name from a referral, searches it, and lands on your site. What they see in the first few seconds decides whether they pick up the phone. A site that looks abandoned makes a good business look risky.
Speed changes how many people stay
Visitors leave sites that take more than a few seconds to appear, and Google measures load speed when it decides where to rank you. A lighter build helps both at once.
A clear path beats a clever design
Most sites lose enquiries at the same place: the visitor is interested but cannot work out what to do next. We design the route from landing on a page to sending an enquiry, then remove everything in its way.
You should be able to update it yourself
Changing your prices, hours or team should not require a developer or a support ticket. We set up editing that a non-technical person can use without breaking the layout.
Why through us
One team instead of four suppliers
A website does not run on its own. It needs a domain name, DNS records pointing to the right place, hosting, an SSL certificate, and email that keeps working while all of that changes. When those pieces sit with four different suppliers, a simple job like moving to a new site turns into a week of forwarded emails, and the day something breaks, everyone points at someone else.
We do all of those pieces. The person who builds your site is working alongside the people who hold your domain, run your hosting and set up your Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace email. When a site goes live with us, the DNS change is planned so your email keeps flowing through the cutover instead of bouncing for a day.
It also means the site does not stop being our problem at launch. Search rankings, page speed, hosting, backups and the enquiry form all sit with the same team, so there is one number to call when something is not right.
What you get
What is included
Structure and copy support
We plan the pages, the order they sit in, and the words that carry the argument. You can write it yourself or we can draft it from a conversation with you.
Custom design in your branding
Designed around your logo and colours, laid out for phones first, and checked on real devices before it goes anywhere near live.
Built for search from day one
Proper page titles and descriptions, heading structure, clean URLs, a sitemap, and structured data so Google can read what your business does.
Forms that reach you
Enquiry forms wired to an inbox you check, with spam filtering, so leads do not sit unread in a plugin dashboard.
Analytics connected
Google Analytics and Search Console set up and verified, so you can see what people search to find you and which pages bring in work.
Hosting, SSL and backups
Live on hosting we manage, with the padlock in the address bar and a backup you can actually restore from.
How it runs
From first call to done
You will always know what stage the work is at and what happens next.
A conversation about the work you want
Not about technology. What jobs are worth the most to you, which ones you would rather not take, and what people usually ask before they buy.
Structure and a written quote
You get a page-by-page plan and a fixed price against it, so there is no moving target once the build starts.
Design, then build
You see the design of the key pages and sign off before we write code. Changes are cheap at this stage and expensive later.
Launch, carefully
We schedule the DNS switch, keep email running through it, check every page and form on the live site, and submit the sitemap to Google.
Aftercare
Updates, backups, monitoring and changes as your business shifts. You are not handed a login and left to it.
Common questions
How long does a website take?
A straightforward business site is usually four to six weeks from the first conversation to launch. The part that sets the timeline is almost always content — photos, staff bios, service descriptions. If you have that ready, it moves faster.
Do I own the website when it is finished?
Yes. The domain is registered in your business name, the site files and content are yours, and you can take them elsewhere if you ever want to. We do not hold anything hostage.
Can you rebuild my existing site without losing my Google rankings?
Yes, and this is worth doing properly. We map every existing page to its replacement and set up redirects so the ranking you have already earned carries across instead of resetting to zero.
Can I update the site myself?
Yes. We set up editing for the parts that change often — text, images, staff, prices, news — and show you how to use it. Structural changes are usually quicker to ask us for.
Do you write the content?
We can. Most clients give us a rough brief and a phone call, and we turn that into the pages. You review and change anything before it goes live.
